Organized by the Academy for Bright Future Young Engineers, the Bright Future Cup 2026 attracted students from 24 high schools to showcase their engineering skills and teamwork in an exciting soccer robotics competition.

The IEEE 2026 Finals of the International Youth IC Challenge (China) and the Inaugural International IC Innovation and Education Forum were held at HKUST on May 17, 2026. The gathering attracted distinguished educators, leading chip experts, and school leaders from across China and overseas, fostering vibrant exchanges across academia, industry, and education sectors.
Developing the Next Generation of Semiconductor Leaders
Twenty award recipients from the School of Engineering were recognized along with their peers across the University at the Connect for Social Good Celebration 2026, which took place at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Atrium on May 7.
The HKUST ROV Team won their 14th straight championship in the Hong Kong Regional Contest of the MATE International ROV Competition since they joined in 2011. They will head for the international competition in Canada this June.
Thirteen HKUST students and 11 EdUHK students joined hands to conduct introduction sessions and organized game booths at EdUHK campus to foster participants’ know-how in underwater robotics.
