Largest Popular Science Initiative Draws Over 5,000 Participants
Under HKUST’s SIGHT program, undergraduates Wesley Chan (first left) and Natalie Ho (second left) have developed a telemedicine initiative and gamified learning workshops on drinking water safety, respectively, to improve healthcare in Sri Lanka.

Organized by the Academy for Bright Future Young Engineers, the Bright Future Cup 2025 attracted students from 31 high schools to showcase their engineering skills and teamwork in an exciting soccer robotics competition.
Over 100 Primary 4 to Secondary 3 students from 24 schools participated in the HKUST Underwater Robot Competition 2025 on March 29-30. The competition concluded with an award presentation ceremony on May 10, 2025 (pictured), which also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the event.
The HKUST ROV Team won their 13th straight championship in the Hong Kong Regional Contest of the MATE International ROV Competition since they joined in 2011. They will head for the international competition in the US this June.
