Peer Mentors

A dedicated team of 90 upper-year Engineering students serves as mentors, providing invaluable support to first-year students as they navigate their journey at HKUST.

• Dive into Center and cross-department trainings that focus on coaching, effective communication, team building, and mental health first aid workshops.
• Put your skills into action by actively supporting and mentoring first-year mentees, helping them develop effective academic study plans, and sharing guidance based on your own experiences.
• Play a vital role in the School Welcoming and Orientation activities, lending a hand during Registration Day, Advising Week, Info Day, Community Meetings, and other related events.
• Collaborate with fellow mentors to create unforgettable House events that captivate and inspire mentees, with the full support and resources of the Center.
• And much more!

Along the way, mentors also form strong friendships among themselves as a community, and benefit from valuable networking opportunities with faculty, staff, and alumni of the University. In addition to an official recognition of their service, mentors are also eligible for awards for outstanding service and benefits as Student Helpers of the School.

Application for 2024-25 Peer Mentoring Program (PMP) ended on Mar 8. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview. Please keep an eye on your email inbox.
