First for Online Courses

HKUST continuously seeks to stay at the forefront of innovative technological and pedagogical developments in online education. In 2012, the University was among the first in Asia and the only university in Greater China to offer courses online worldwide through global Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) provider Coursera. A year later, HKUST also joined edX, another major MOOC platform.

This head start in online learning helped the University rapidly adapt during COVID-19.

In addition, mixed-mode teaching will be supported in all classrooms at HKUST(GZ) to enhance collaboration between the two campuses.
