Prof. Shen Shaojie (first left) and his two former PhD students, Dr. Zhou Boyu (second left) and Dr. Xu Hao (second right), received the 2024 IEEE Transactions on Robotics King-Sun Fu Memorial Best Paper Award, which recognizes the best paper published annually in the IEEE Transactions on Robotics.
The HKUST ROV Team won their 12th straight championship in the Hong Kong Regional Contest of the MATE International ROV Competition since they joined in 2011. They will head for the international competition in the US this June.
A joint undergraduate student team of five HKUST students and five HKUST(GZ) students won four awards at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Tertiary Institution Innovation Project Invitational Competition on March 9, 2024.

The “HKUST-ExxonMobil iSTEAM Program 2023 – Spider Robot STEAM Challenge” drew around 160 students and teachers from 19 primary and secondary schools to learn about STEAM, teamwork and leadership.
The HKUST Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Team won the Second Place in their first attempt in the Virtual RobotX Competition from the United States, an international challenge designed to broaden students’ exposure to autonomy and maritime robotic technologies.
