SENG Teams Excelled at 11th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

HKUST students and recent graduates achieved outstanding results at the 11th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, winning a remarkable total of 13 awards. Notably, 12 of these awards were captured by teams comprising School of Engineering (SENG) members. These include a First Prize in the Startup category by ESGuardian Ltd for its project on “Low Carbon Lifestyle with Silica Capsule Technology”, two Second Prizes, four Third Prizes and five Merit Prizes.

Organized by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association, the competition this year attracted a record-breaking 687 projects from over 2,000 participants and 25 tertiary institutions. The prize presentation ceremony took place on May 31, 2025, at Hong Kong Science Park.
