Fifteen teams comprising School of Engineering (SENG) students and alumni received 17 awards, including the top honor, at the Hong Kong Techathon+ 2025. This annual flagship event in the innovation and technology (I&T) sector was co-organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and 13 local higher education institutions.

Concluded on January 19, 2025, this year’s event reached a new record in participation, attracting over 1,800 local and international talents in I&T and forming over 380 teams. The awards are classified into four categories, namely Trusted AI & Data Science, Sustainability & ESG, Digital Economy, and Smart Cities.

The team “Eleuto”, comprised of SENG undergraduate students Aryan AGARWAl and Shivansh ANAND, won the top honor, the New Innovation Award, as well as the Gold Award in the category of Sustainability & ESG under the Local University Student Group, by creating a communication solution for the paralyzed who are unable to speak or type.
