The East Asian Postgraduate Workshop on Nanoscience and Technology was organized by the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and the Department of Physics of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on June 15-17, 2011 at HKUST in Hong Kong.

The objective of the Workshop is to set up a unique platform specifically for postgraduates in the East Asian region involved in nanoscience and technology research to share their most recent work and research experience, and most importantly to seize the rare opportunity to initiate and establish international collaborations. This is an ALL-PG Workshop organized by and for PG students in nanoscience and technology research, and the papers submitted have all been peer-reviewed by the organizing committee.

The Workshop has 48 participants from overseas (including Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia) and 42 from Mainland China, and the total number of participants is around 100. Out of these participants, there are 41 Oral Presenters and 49 Poster Presenters, and the following participants have been selected for the Best Oral / Poster Presenter Awards:

Winners of the Best Oral Presenter Award:

  • Ms. Lin Yi-Rung from CCMS, National Taiwan University, for her paper “Synthesis of Size Controlled Cu2ZnSnS4 Nanocrystals for Use in Low-Cost Photovoltaics”.
