工學院陳启峰教授入選《麻省理工科技評論》2018年中國區「35歲以下科技創新35人」
香港科技大學工學院計算機科學及工程學系與電子及計算機工程學系助理教授陳启峰，榮獲麻省理工學院旗下的《麻省理工科技評論》選為2018年中國區「35歲以下科技創新35人」其中一人。
自1999年開始，《麻省理工科技評論》每一年都會在生物科技、能源、交通運輸、通訊和互聯網 等不同範疇，從全球挑選出一批35歲以下傑出的創造者。
而為了表示對中國科技界新晉人才的認同，該評論於2017年特別於中國區設立獎項，表揚中國國內一些能夠改變我們生活方式及塑造科技和業界未來的年輕人。
於2018年舉辦的第二屆中國區「35歲以下科技創新35人」大獎，35位得獎者分別來自五大類別：創業家（entrepreneurs）、人道主義者（humanitarians）、先鋒者（pioneers）、遠見者（visionaries）和發明家（inventors）。他們涵蓋了不同新興科技範疇，例如人工智能、機械人、拓撲量子和航空及航天學。
年僅29歲的陳启峰教授，鑽研計算機視覺領域多年。在七位是次獲選為遠見者的人當中，陳教授佔一席位，肯定了他在圖像合成與分解和光流算法等方面取得的突破。
近年來，陳教授專注於利用人工智能合成圖像和視頻。他創新地利用以多個分辨率倍增模塊為基礎的級聯優化網絡，能夠合成出媲美真實照片的圖像。
他亦是視頻直播公司Lino的創辦人之一。Lino是以矽谷為基地的初創企業，矢志為內容創作提供更公開和透明的平台。
陳教授的研究成果，令我們在不久的將來，便能夠單純以計算機視覺技術完成電影拍攝。
