Overview
The HKUST Engineering Summer Camp for Elite Students 2024 provides an opportunity for exceptional students to enhance their academic and professional pursuits within a unique, immersive environment. This dynamic summer experience combines research talks, laboratory visits, student sharing, a campus tour, and city sightseeing, allowing participants to explore their research interests and expand their academic networks. Program Fee & Sponsorship
Participants from Partner Institutions
The program fee (HK$6,800 / ~US$880) for participants from our partner institutions will be waived. They will only be required to pay for their international airfare between their home country / region and Hong Kong. A small amount of sponsorship for the airfare may be provided, subject to the agreement with SENG.
Participants from Other Institutions
For participants who are not from our partner institutions, they may be required to pay for the full program fee of the camp (HK$6,800 / ~US$880) and the international airfare between their home country / region and Hong Kong. Subject to their academic performance and the agreement of SENG, the program fee may be waived.
Sponsorship by HKUST School of Engineering
HKUST SENG will sponsor a round-trip airfare between the shortlisted participants' home country / region and Hong Kong at a maximum of:
- HK$1,500 for participants from Asia;
- HK$3,000 for participants from Central Asia;
- HK$4,000 for participants from Oceania;
- HK$5,000 for participants from Africa and Europe;
- HK$6,000 for participants from North / South America; or
- the actual price, whichever is lower

Privileges for Shortlisted Participants
The following privileges will be provided by HKUST SENG:
- 5-day-4-night on-campus accommodation with WIFI
[Check-in] 22 July 2024; [Check-out] 26 July 2024 (without further extension) - Welcome reception, meals, local transportation (excluding HK airport / port <> HKUST) and city tour
Selection
Shortlisted participants will be notified by 30 April 2024 (GMT+8).
Entry Visa to Hong Kong & Insurance
All shortlisted participants, excluding those from visa waiver countries, are required to self-arrange and obtain a valid entry visa immediately after receiving the acceptance notification from this program. The School of Engineering will provide assistance on a request basis if a supporting letter is required for the visa application. It is also mandatory for shortlisted participants to purchase their own medical / travel insurance before their arrival in Hong Kong.
