HKUST-WashU Joint Education Program
Overview
To attend to students with a passion for postgraduate studies and research, the HKUST School of Engineering has partnered with the McKelvey School of Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU), USA to provide a seamless pathway for its engineering students to obtain an HKUST bachelor's degree and a WashU Master/PhD degree.
Within this framework, students of the HKUST School of Engineering will complete the first 3 years at HKUST. Afterwards, they will attend WashU to complete all remaining HKUST degree requirements (including a final year project) in Year 4. Subject to fulfillment of all degree requirements, participating students will be conferred the HKUST degree. Upon completion of the bachelor’s program, students will proceed to WashU Master/PhD programs. Preferential treatment will be offered to selected participants by WashU for their postgraduate studies, such as fast-track admission, monetary bonus and/or research fellowships.
