The Center for Global & Community Engagement (GCE) of HKUST School of Engineering hosted a STEAM in Summer Event on July 6, 2024 on campus, providing a unique STEAM learning experience for around 300 teachers and students from primary and secondary schools.

Activities include STEAM competition experiences, interactive STEAM booths, DIY corners and workshops. In the STEAM competition experiences, participants had a taste of two major STEAM competitions hosted by GCE, namely the Underwater Robot Competition and Robot Explorer Cup. The interactive STEAM booths featured a variety of projects including Micro:bit related projects and the award-winning Art Bot. In teachers’ workshop, they learned how to apply the newly developed Augmented Reality (AR) application on Underwater Robotics in class.

The STEAM in Summer event was a resounding success, further solidifying HKUST’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators.
