A high-achieving engineering student was awarded a Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Scholarship 2025-26. Another four students, who were the HKIE Scholarship recipients of previous years, also had their scholarships successfully renewed in the 2025-26 academic year.

The 2025-26 awardee is:

  • Freeman TSE Sze-Bok (Class of 2029, BEng in Computer Science and BBA in Finance)

The four students who had their scholarships renewed in 2025-26 are:

  • Hayden LEUNG Lok-Hay (Class of 2027, BEng in Electronic Engineering), a 2024-25 scholarship recipient
  • LIU Jiayu (Class of 2027, BEng in Computer Science), a 2024-25 scholarship recipient
  • Shahman ALI (Class of 2026, BEng in Computer Science), a 2023-24 scholarship recipient
  • Eugene CHEUNG Hon (Class of 2025, BEng in Civil Engineering), a 2022-23 scholarship recipient

The HKIE Scholarship scheme aims to recognize the academic achievements of outstanding full-time engineering undergraduate students. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to up to three students who major in HKIE-accredited engineering programs in any local university. Selection criteria include academic results at university, enthusiasm in becoming an engineer, and leadership ability demonstrated in extra-curricular activities and community service. The scholarship grant will be disbursed to the recipients in four instalments at the end of each academic year, contingent upon the fulfilment of specific requirements.
