Two Engineering Undergraduates Received Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026
Two HKUST engineering undergraduate students were awarded the prestigious Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026, which recognizes outstanding undergraduates from local universities who are passionate about innovation and technology (I&T). They are:
YAU Chi-Tak
Program: BEng in Aerospace Engineering
Freeman TSE Sze-Bok
Program: Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (BEng in Computer Science & BBA with Extended Major in AI)
The scholarship has been jointly launched by Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), HSBC, and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) since 2011. Every year, 25 outstanding local undergraduates are selected to receive a scholarship of up to HK$150,000 each. They will participate in a series of elite-nurturing programs over the coming year, including overseas/mainland attachments, mentorship programs, service projects, and local internships at local technology enterprises or government departments.
By enhancing students’ professional skills and global perspectives, the scholarship empowers a new generation of youth leaders to harness local research strengths and collectively contribute to Hong Kong’s vision of becoming an international I&T center.
