Prof. Mansun CHAN, Alex Wong Siu Wah Gigi Wong Fook Chi Professor of Engineering and Chair Professor of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, was recognized with a Materials Scientist Award at the 6th International Conference on Materials Science, Engineering and Technology, held in Singapore on May 5-7, 2026.

The award honors his outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials science, engineering and technology, particularly his work on carbon-based materials for CMOS interconnect applications.

During the conference, Prof. Chan also delivered an invited talk titled “Materials Innovation for CMOS Interconnect Scaling Beyond Copper and Low‑K Dielectrics”.

The conference brought together over 170 scientists, researchers, engineers, academicians, and industry professionals from more than 20 countries and regions to exchange visions, ideas, recent developments, and findings, as well as advanced scientific and technical knowledge in the field of materials science.
