Prof. Mansun CHAN, Alex Wong Siu Wah Gigi Wong Fook Chi Professor of Engineering and Chair Professor of Electronic and Computer Engineering, has been selected as an IEEE STEM Champion. He is one of the 28 outstanding individuals chosen from a total of 135 applications submitted from all over the world.

Launched in 2021, the IEEE STEM Champion Program was developed to recognize IEEE volunteers for their contributions to pre-university STEM education. STEM Champions drive STEM outreach activities in their local communities, share results, and help build a community of STEM volunteers.

Externally, he was named an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer in 2003, and later became the youngest-ever recipient of the IEEE Simon Min Sze Education Award in 2017. In 2022, he was acclaimed with the Academic Achievement Award from the Taiwan Association for Academic Innovation during his sabbatical leave.
