Victory at HKUST President’s Cup 2022
Final Year Projects of three student teams from the School of Engineering were recognized in the HKUST President’s Cup 2022, an annual University-wide competition that encourages undergraduate students to pursue excellence in research and innovation.
A Bioengineering team comprising Mark Alexander NGAI (Dual Degree), CHENG Ting-Kai, and Minato KOBASHI won the Gold Award for their project “Development of a Smartphone-based Microscope for Histological Analysis of Biological Samples”. The team was supervised by Prof. Terence WONG Tsz-Wai.
The Silver Award went to WONG Yan-Ho, CHIN Tian-You, and Ken YEUNG Man-Lung (Dual Degree), three Computer Science and Engineering students supervised by Prof. Desmond TSOI Yau-Chat, for their project “Cnails: Cloud IDE Tailor for UST Programming Courses”.
Another Computer Science and Engineering team took the Special Mention. TIAN Xiangan, WU Lijia, and WU Yijian, supervised by Prof. Dimitris PAPADOPOULOS, collected the prize for their project “VaxPass: Decentralized Two-Tier Verifiable Blockchain Platform for COVID-19 Certificate Verification”.
