It offers courses in a broad range of subjects in electronic engineering. By enrolling in this program, students will have the opportunity to delve into a diverse range of courses, providing them with a solid foundation in the latest technologies and advancements.
Content

Curriculum

Students are required to complete a total of 24 credits of coursework.  An Independent Study can also be undertaken for a maximum of 3 credits.  Subject to prior approval of the Program Director, students may take a maximum of 9 credits of courses offered by other MSc programs.  For details, please refer to the Postgraduate Program Catalog & Course Catalog

Admission and English Proficiency Requirements

Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or tertiary institution. For English Proficiency Requirements, please refer to HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School.

Program Fee

The nominal program fee for full-time study is HK$208,000 (paid in 2 installments) and part-time study is HK$183,000 (paid in 4 installments) respectively.

Career Prospect

Upon completion of this program, many students had been landing jobs in various well-known companies such as China Mobile, Hong Kong Telecom, Huawei and HSBC.  Meanwhile, some students have continued to pursue PhD studies at HKUST or other universities.

Prof. SHI Ling, Professor of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, HKUST and Program Director of MSc(ELEG) program, has been named the recipient of the Chen Han-Fu Award 2024 for his significant contributions to cyber-physical systems security and control.
Launched by the Hong Kong government in 2023 with a funding allocation totalling HK$10 billion, the RAISe+ Scheme incentivizes collaboration among industry, academic, and research sectors to promote commercialization of R&D outcomes.
