Established with the generous support of the Professor Wilson Tang Memorial Fund, this Scholarship honors the legacy of the late Professor Wilson Tang by empowering talented students who are ready to shape the future of our cities and environment. It is designed for high-achieving students who demonstrate strong academic performance and a clear passion for Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Exclusive Benefits for the Scholarship Recipients:
- Admissions Award: Each awardee will receive an award of HK$20,000.Note 1

All full-time first-year undergraduate students admitted to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2026 will be considered for the scholarship if they meet one of the following academic criteria:
JUPAS Applicants
- Applicants must attain Level 5** in at least one HKDSE subject or Level 5* in at least two HKDSE subjects in one single sitting, and must list HKUST Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as a Band A choice in JUPAS.
IB Applicants
- Applicants must score a total of 40 points in the IB diploma (including Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge points).
GCE / International A-Level Applicants
- Applicants must attain A* in at least three A-Level subjects (excluding the Chinese subject).
SAT / Advanced Placement (AP) Applicants
- Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 1,530 on the SAT Reasoning Test or a score of at least 34 on the ACT, and must obtain Grade 5 in at least four AP subjects.
Chinese Mainland Gaokao Applicants
- Applicants must score a minimum of 620 on the Chinese Mainland Gaokao.

| 1. | The scholarship amount listed above is awarded in addition to the admissions scholarship award granted by the University and the School of Engineering (JUPAS | International Qualifications | Chinese Mainland Gaokao). The total scholarship amount that students receive should not exceed Full tuition fee plus HK$60,000 allowance p.a. | |
| 2. | The Scholarship recognizes the exceptional academic performance of the top 8 to 10 students admitted to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Eligible students will be automatically considered based on their academic merit. No separate application is required.. | |
| 3. | JUPAS applicants will be selected based on weighted admission scores. Only HKDSE results from one single sitting will be considered when calculating the weighted scores for selecting scholarship awardees. | |
