Secondary 6 Students Introduced to Multifaceted Field of Engineering on Engineering Exploration Day 2025

The Engineering Exploration Day 2025, hosted by the School of Engineering (SENG) on May 13, 2025, welcomed hundreds of Secondary 6 students who put SENG programs as a Band A choice in JUPAS to explore the multifaceted field of engineering as well as life at HKUST.

In addition to JUPAS interview, the full-day event included two admissions talks by Associate Dean of Engineering (Undergraduate Studies) Prof. WANG Yu-Hsing and the Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Office respectively, as well as three department/program-based talks by Prof. YANG Jiachuan (Civil and Environmental Engineering), Prof. Desmond TSOI (Computer Engineering), and Prof. ZHANG Xiaowei (Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics).

The comprehensive program of the day also featured sharing by Engineering Student Ambassadors, students and alumni, “Meet the Professors” mingling sessions, consultations, campus tours, lab tours and workshops.

The Engineering Exploration Day aims to help JUPAS applicants to become familiar with life as a SENG student, and aware of how engineering has impacted the society and what the next significant breakthroughs may be.
