Prof Hoi Sing Kwok elected as Vice-President Asia and Prof Man Wong elected as Chairman of Hong Kong Chapter of Society for Information Display

Prof Hoi Sing Kwok, Dr William Mong Chair Professor of Electronic and Computer Engineering, has been elected Vice President of the Society for Information Display (SID).

SID has three regional Vice-Presidents in the United States, Europe and Asia. Prof Kwok is the Vice President for Asia for a term of two years since May 2010.

SID is the only global organization dedicated to the advancement of electronic-display technology. Prof Kwok is a renowned expert in this area and he is now Director of Center for Display Research.

Prof Kwok is also a Fellow of IEEE, the Optical Society of America (OSA) and SID. He is also an elected member of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials. So far he has published over 500 papers in internationally respected journals and global conference and holds more than 10 patents in his areas of research interest.

Prof Man Wong of the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department has also been elected Chairman of the SID Hong Kong Chapter. Prof Wong is a member of IEEE, the SID, Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and Sigma Xi. He has ten patents granted and four pending.
