Prof. Abhishek SRIVASTAVA, Associate Professor of the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, was elevated to a Fellow of the Society for Information Display (SID) in 2026. He was cited “for sustained leadership in optical materials innovation, pioneering advances in ferroelectric liquid crystals, LC alignment technologies, and quantum rod performance for visual display systems.”

A significant professional distinction, the grade of Fellow is awarded to a SID member who has made outstanding and widely recognized engineering or scientific contributions to the display field. The review process is rigorous with fewer than 0.1% of members selected each year.

Prof. Srivastava is the editor of the Journal of the Society of Information Display. He was nominated as a senior member of SID in 2017. His research interests include photo-aligned ferroelectric liquid crystals, solid-state electronics and photonics, nanomaterials, display technologies, and liquid crystals.
