Three faculty members were honored in the School of Engineering (SENG) Teaching Excellence Appreciation Award 2024-25. The award recognizes faculty members who demonstrate continuous excellence in undergraduate teaching, foster students’ interest in the subject, promote students’ learning, develop innovative and effective teaching methodologies, and more.

Recipients (in alphabetical order of last names):

  • Dr. Cecia CHAN Ki, Lecturer I, Department of Computer Science and Engineering
  • Prof. QIU Xuan, Assistant Professor of Engineering Education, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering
  • Prof. SO Pui-San, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Dr. Cecia Chan Ki consistently received high teaching evaluations in her courses, including COMP1021 Introduction to Computer Science, COMP2011 Programming with C++, COMP2012 Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures, COMP2211 Exploring Artificial Intelligence, and COMP4331 Data Mining. She developed two innovative courses for gifted learners beyond university education: “Python: Beyond the Basics” and “Introduction to Game Development with Godot”. She also actively supervised final year projects (FYP), which went on to receive multiple best FYP awards in the department.
