Two Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduates Won AS Watson Scholarships

Two School of Engineering (SENG) undergraduate students were among the 10 awardees selected for the second cohort of the AS Watson Scholarship at HKUST. A presentation ceremony was held on September 17, 2025, at AS Watson’s city office to celebrate the students’ achievements.

The two SENG students, both from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, are:

Saanvi SHUKLA
Year 3, BEng in Computer Science

Shahman ALI
Year 4, BEng in Computer Science with Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence

Established in 2024, the AS Watson Scholarship recognizes Engineering School and Business School students who demonstrate outstanding performance in academics, extracurricular involvement, and leadership. Complementing the Scholarship, AS Watson Group offers internship opportunities that allow students to gain hands-on experience at the world’s largest international health and beauty retailer, bridging academic knowledge with real-world application.
