The first “Industry Connects University” biannual forum on digital transformation cum CSE Get-together on October 25 drew 140 industry partners, faculty members, alumni and students. The occasion marked the first event that took place at the newly renovated Engineering Commons after its official opening on October 17.

Prof. Ping K. Ko, HKUST Honorary Fellow and former Dean of Engineering, gave an insightful talk to School of Engineering faculty members on October 23, 2024.
With HKUST’s new BEng in Energy and Environmental Engineering program launching in Fall 2025, students will learn to design eco-friendly, economically viable, and socially responsible solutions to tackle grand challenges on creating clean water and clean energy.

Dean of Engineering Prof. Hong K. Lo (right) presented a tailor-made wooden plaque to Prof. Chia-Wei Woo (left) in appreciation of his insightful sharing. The plaque was made from preserved wood of the Acacia Confusa trees on campus that were cut down to make way for the construction of the new Innovation Building.
