Prof. SHAO Minhua Named 2026 Fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry

Cheong Ying Chan Professor of Energy Engineering and Environment Prof. SHAO Minhua, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and Director of the Energy Institute, was named a 2026 Fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE). He was cited “for his significant contributions to fundamental electrocatalysis and his pioneering advancements in polymer electrolyte-based technologies, such as fuel cells, water electrolysis, and CO₂ conversion systems”.

The ISE Fellow honor recognizes distinguished scientists for their outstanding contributions to electrochemistry through research, leadership, and service to the scientific community. Prof. Shao is one of only seven Fellows selected globally for 2026. He received the Fellow medal during the General Assembly at the 77th ISE Annual Meeting, which was held in Sydney, Australia, on September 6-11, 2026.
