Prof. Fugee TSUNG, Chair Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics, has been elected as the Regional Vice President (Asia) of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). Through this appointment to IISE’s International Operations Board, Prof. Tsung is positioned to drive international membership growth and elevate the global recognition of the industrial engineering profession.

Founded in 1948, the IISE is the world’s largest professional society dedicated exclusively to supporting the industrial engineering profession. As a non-profit leader, it excels in the application, education, and development of integrated systems.

As a globally recognized leader in quality engineering, industrial analytics, and industrial intelligence, Prof. Tsung is listed among the Stanford-Elsevier top 2% most influential scientists worldwide. He is an Academician of IAQ, Fellow of ASA, ASQ, IISE, APIEMS, and HKIE, and an elected member of ISI. His recent honors include the 2025 ASQ Shewhart Medal and the 2025 IISE George L. Smith International Award.
