Civil Engineering PhD Student MA Yibo Won Best Presentation Award at Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Conference

Civil Engineering PhD Student MA Yibo, a Hong Kong PhD Fellowship awardee, received a Best Student Presentation Award at the 29th Annual Conference of the Hong Kong Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (HKSTAM), held in Hong Kong on April 18, 2026. His presentation is titled “Quantifying the Role of Thermoelectric Magnetohydrodynamic Process in Keyhole Pore Formation during Laser Powder Bed Fusion”. The research work was co-authored with his supervisor Prof. ZHAO Jidong, Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and former postdoctoral fellow and 2023 PhD graduate Dr. YU Tao.
