Over 70 faculty and staff members, students, alumni, and guests joined the HKUST Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering’s Friday Get-Together on March 13, 2026, making it a vibrant evening of networking, knowledge-sharing, and community building.

The evening began with welcome remarks from Prof. Hong K. LO, Dean of Engineering, and Prof. CHEN Yong, Head of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This was followed by a series of insightful mini talks delivered by distinguished industry leaders, including Mr. John SZE, Senior Director of R&D, ASMPT; Mr. Christopher HO, Senior Project Manager, ATAL; Ir Chris CHEUNG, Vice Chancellor, CLP Power Academy; Mr. Gary CHOW, Senior Manager of HAESL and a BEng alumnus of the MAE Department; and Ms. Gloriane KAM, Network Quality Manager, Towngas.

The program concluded with a lively networking session, where participants exchange ideas, reconnect and forge new ties. The event highlighted the department’s commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry while strengthening community bonds.
