Three MAE PhD students received the Best Paper Awards at the 6th International Conference on Vibration and Energy Harvesting Applications

MAE PhD students received the Best Paper Awards of VEH 2025 at the 6th International Conference on Vibration and Energy Harvesting Applications (VEH 2025), held at the HKUST Clear Water Bay Campus from July 11 to 14, 2025.

Ms. Qinqin He and Ms. Chunye Ma, PhD students under Prof. Yanguang ZHOU, received the awards for their respective papers: “Revisiting the Intrinsic Anharmonicity in Hybrid Perovskites” (Presented by Qinqin He) and “Microscopic Kinetics of Atmospheric Water Sorption in Metal-Organic Frameworks” (Presented by Chunye Ma).

Ms. Ziyan Qian, a MAE PhD student of Prof. Qiye ZHENG, received the award for her paper titled “Alloying-induced degradation of thermal conductivity in AlN films."

Vibration energy harvesting technology is an interdisciplinary field and has attracted significant attention from both academia and industry toward green and renewable energy and self-powered systems over the past decade. VEH 2025 has provided an international platform for researchers from all over the world to exchange ideas to advance the development of the related technologies which highlighted the latest research and technological advances in the field of vibration analysis, energy harvesting, and its applications. Topics covered in the conference include innovative research works related to vibration analysis, energy harvesting, their applications, and results on the mechanical design, optimization, dynamics, power management circuits and systems, MEMS technology, nano technology, new materials, self-powered IoT applications, and other related areas.
