Prof. GUO Song Received First-Class Natural Science Award by Chinese Institute of Electronics
Prof. Song Guo, Chair Professor in the Department of CSE, has achieved remarkable recognition at The First-Class Natural Science Award. His outstanding contributions to many academic fields have earned him the Natural Science Award, demonstrating his aptitude and commitment to the advancement of this initiative.
About the Award-winning Project
The Chinese Institute of Electronics grants the First-Class Natural Science Award to projects that demonstrate a high level of scientific rigour and originality. These projects represent the state of the art and the most recent advancements in the field of electronic information. These initiatives can span a broad spectrum from fundamental theory to applied technology and may involve several fields, including computer science and technology, communication and information systems, and electronic science and technology. Meanwhile, these award-winning programs' research findings frequently have substantial societal value and wide application potential. They can propel scientific advancement and industrial growth in the electronic information sector, thereby impacting the social and economic advancement of the country.
A new approach to connectivity and coverage in aerial-ground cooperative mobile group sensing networks with constrained communication capabilities was put forth by Prof. Guo and his colleagues. Based on deep reinforcement learning, they created a new pattern of cooperative deployment for cooperative mobile group sensing networks that are aerial-ground. Subsequently, they developed a novel theory for the computational optimisation of cooperative mobile group sensing networks between the air and the ground with limited resources. Furthermore, an aerial-ground cooperative mobile group sensing network system was created, driven by the ideas and techniques indicated above.
