More than 120 participants, including industry partners, HKUST alumni, faculty, staff and students, attended the highly successful Research and Technology Forum 2024 organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) on April 5, 2024.
The impressive line-up of speakers included CSE Department Head Prof. ZHOU Xiaofang, who delivered the opening remarks and gave an overview of the department’s labs and research highlights, and Mr. YIU Pok-Man, Head (Investment Fund Management) of the Office of Knowledge Transfer (OKT), who made a presentation on OKT’s role in creating impact through innovation and entrepreneurship development. Later in the event, 11 CSE faculty members shared their insights on their latest research projects, followed by a poster exhibition and refreshment session where 14 CSE postgraduate students showcased their research works.
Offering a platform for sharing knowledge and building connections, the annual forum allowed the participants to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and establish new relationships. The forum also served as an exceptional opportunity for the department to strengthen its ties with industry partners and alumni through promoting its cutting-edge research and technologies. Industry partners were able to develop a better understanding of CSE’s research areas and potential collaborations, which could lead to future partnerships and joint projects.
