HKUST Engineering Continues to Excel in 2013 QS World University Rankings

The prestigious QS World University Rankings have just released its 2013 Subject Rankings which has seen HKUST ranked within the world’s top 30 in all five engineering and technology subjects. HKUST engineering continues to perform extremely well and is among the best engineering schools in the world.

Launched in 2011, the QS World University Ranking by Subjects covered 30 individual subjects which were ranked according to various intensive indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, citations and the newly introduced h-index which measures both the productivity and impact of the published work of a scientist or scholar.

Dean of Engineering Prof Khaled Ben Letaief said, “I feel very special and excited to witness the outstanding performance of the engineering departments and their continued success in pushing high-impact research to an exalted level.” Not only HKUST Engineering continues to shine in the QS World Rankings, other prestigious universities also maintain their prominence in 2013 such as MIT, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and Harvard University. “The eminence of HKUST Engineering is attributed to the remarkable achievements of our faculty, students, and researchers in undertaking pioneering research supported by our world-class research facilities,” he continued.

The School shall continue to strive for excellence in innovation, research, and education for the betterment of mankind and societal development.
