As a child, I always decomposed my toys by throwing them into pieces, then built them back up to their original forms. I used to be fascinated by how the parts held together and how they were put together so perfectly. That was pretty much my first exposure to engineering, but it wasn't until many years later that I decided I would study engineering at university. Alongside my passion for computers and coding, I finally chose a computer-related discipline of engineering — computer engineering.
I chose HKUST as it is a renowned young university with a strong reputation for its outstanding Engineering School. During my first year, I gained a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and science, and an overview of computer science and its concepts. This helped me pave my path to pursue further study in my area of interest. Beyond academics, HKUST has provided me with numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth. One such opportunity was being part of the Engineering Student Ambassador program, where I had the chance to connect with exceptional individuals from different corners of the world. These individuals have always been ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever I reached out to them
Innovation and technology are core pillars to provide sustainable society development. It will continue to infiltrate our daily lives. At HKUST, I have been fortunate to explore different areas of technology and innovation. The University offers diverse platforms for students to achieve personal growth, and transform passion and creativity into innovative solutions for various problems around the world. With an extended major in artificial intelligence, I will gain a deeper understanding of my chosen subject area, and ready myself to embrace the future world and challenges.
