Over the last twenty years, I guess many of us were once insecure about our goals or our future or our paths. To be honest, I did too. Fortunately, I did not spend much time finding mine. This story started at the age of 16 - when I first saw the repair of the aeroplanes during a field trip to Hong Kong International Airport. The engineers collaborate efficiently in 3 minutes. It was like they have already carved their knowledge and skills into their minds. Everything went so smooth and fast, just like the tire changes in the Formula One competition, but was a magnified version. This is the story of why I chose to study Aerospace Engineering.

As an HKUST student, we always compare with each other about gradings, extracurricular experiences, and even the pace of finishing the homework. It is stressful, isn’t it? However, when it comes to me, I found it overly exciting. During my whole life, I was always attracted by strenuous challenges. I believe life full of challenges is a real and fruitful life. And that is exactly why I chose to study aerospace engineering and entered the HKUST. In Aerospace Engineering courses, there are always peers who do better than I do. I can never, or hardly ever, be the best. We always compare and compete, and that is how I improved, how we all made improvements. This is the reason I love to study engineering.

Although challenges are one of my favourites, there are some that I can never solve. It may be because of my limit, or I was too upset to face them. Anyways, there are always ups and downs in our life, including our university study life. However, just remember one thing - when you have reached rock bottom, the only way to go will be up! I always cheer myself up when I am on the downside, and I found this quote always works. I hope it did something to you too.
