Master of Science program Offer Acceptance Procedures (2024/25 Spring intake)
Please read carefully the following notes and complete all the following required steps before the specified deadline. Otherwise, the admission offer will become null and void and your place will be given to students on the waiting list.
To confirm acceptance of program offer:
1. Accept the admission offer online
- Read the admission offer letter carefully at the Online Application System;
- Press the "Accept" button; and
- Pay the deposit and upload the deposit payment receipt before the deadline stipulated on the offer letter (NOTE: Deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable).
2. Read the program curriculum and TPg handbook
- Read the program curriculum at program catalogue; and
- Read the Taught Postgraduate (TPg) handbook. No double-registration within or outside of HKUST is allowed for MSc Programs.
3. Read the fee details

Quote your application number on all payment advice / remittance / document for identification.
4. Submit Student Visa application (for non-local students)
Apply for the Student Visa/ Entry Permit prior to program commencement. Most non-local students are required to obtain a student visa/ entry permit for studying in Hong Kong. Learn more
5. Submit official documents to verify your Qualification
Submit official documents to HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School before the stipulated deadline shown on the admission offer letter. Early submission of documents is recommended. Learn more
6. Apply for scholarships
Submit applications for scholarships before the deadlines, if needed. Learn more
7. Other matters for non-local students
- Accommodation
- The University’s arranged housing is NOT available.
- Non-local full-time students are advised to look for accommodation in Hong Kong as early as possible.
- Visit Off-Campus Housing Page for useful information.
- May also visit a forum managed by Mainland Students and Scholars Society (MSSS), a student organization at HKUST for more information.
