Hello everyone, my name is Pranay Sood! I was born in Agra (City of the great Taj Mahal) two days after Valentines of 1996. I moved to Indonesia at the age of six and since then, I have become more of a 'third cultured kid' (TCK). I have studied in international schools throughout my whole life where I have grown up with students from diverse cultures ranging from Europe to Fiji. I graduated high school with the International Baccalaureate which was a perfect stepping stone to adapt to the university education and lifestyle. HKUST was one of the top universities that I had applied for in my undergraduate studies and I decided to opt HKUST because of its global reputation for Engineering. I have got to say that choosing HKUST was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I am very passionate about Engineering and innovation and that is why I chose Electronic and Computer Engineering as my major because I believe that this area of Engineering is one which keeps on changing and developing constantly. I also believe that Electronics is one of those areas where I can get the opportunity to understand interesting concepts and use the invaluable knowledge to develop my own ideas. Furthermore, I am planning to pick Math and IT Minor Programs to diversify my knowledge and understanding. Besides academics, I am a very balanced person and I love to spend my spare time reading, playing guitar and participating in tennis tournaments. I am in the HKUST Tennis Team and that has been one of my best accomplishments since joining HKUST. I also intend to play tennis tournaments in Asia as it has always been my passion to excel in tennis.

Personally, I believe HKUST is a prestigious university with a brilliant learning environment and my experience here so far has been extraordinary. As a proud ambassador of the School of Engineering, I intend to be a source of inspiration for the upcoming engineers. Please feel free to contact me and I welcome you to our marvelous university.
