Whenever people ask me why I chose engineering, I could immediately give them the answer. The reason behind is simple: I would say I did not choose Engineering but Engineering chose me. During my secondary school study, I did not think of anything about Engineering because I did not know what engineering is. However, I could clearly tell you now what Engineering is and why I love Engineering.
Engineering to me is about application, creation and invention. Without engineers, things would not have happened. Through creating possibilities, we fail sometimes, but we also learn and improve. I am always looking for possibilities and new opportunities. Whenever I fail, it has become my chance to improve. I love Engineering because I can always take challenges and improve from learning. Therefore, I am glad that Engineering has chosen me, not only to put small ideas into action, but also making people’s life easier.
Growing up in Hong Kong, my hometown, I have been told that HKUST is one of the best institutions, especially in the field of Engineering. I love and choose HKUST because I believe it could help me create a better me and think differently with its given opportunities. Being an Engineering Student Ambassador is one of the opportunities given and I am honored to represent HKUST, share my experience and promote engineering to others. I also hope that more people are inspired to take up engineering and contribute to society.
