Hello! I am Vaishnavi Ganesh, an Indian by origin and birth. Though I was born in Chennai, India, I spent the first 13 years of my life in Thailand. The last five years of my schooling was in an International Residential school in Chennai. I am a typical third culture kid, who has experienced two exclusively different cultures all my life. I am a very flexible and adaptive person hence I am always fond of getting exposed to different cultures, languages and life-styles. Since Hong Kong is culturally diverse from India and Thailand, it had always been a dream destination to pursue my higher education. When it comes to educational institutions in Hong Kong, there is no better place than HKUST. Being Asia's most prestigious institution, HKUST has a remarkable profile in terms of rankings, faculty, location and reputation. I already envisaged endless possibilities awaiting me in the coming years.

I chose engineering because there is a tremendous scope for learning and growing as an individual in this field. I find it fascinating that most of our daily needs are met by devices that run on cutting edge technologies developed entirely by professional engineers. I look forward to being like one of those professionals as well. My first year in HKUST has been a wonderful and fruitful experience, molding me to manage my academic and non-academic life beautifully. Over my year-long stay in HKUST, I developed a deep passion for computing and consequently I am majoring in Computer Science.

I am proud to be an Engineering student in HKUST and I am very enthusiastic to represent and promote my school to prospective students, parents and teachers. As a proud ambassador of the School of Engineering, I look forward to guiding and inspiring the future engineers.
