Ackle Cheuk Kiu

Hi everyone! I am Ackle, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I chose HKUST engineering due to the tremendous scope available for me to learn and grow as an individual. Most of our daily needs are met by devices that run on technologies developed by professional engineers. I look forward to being one of those professionals as well.

I am currently the External Vice-Chairman of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Students’ Association. Being in this position, my interpersonal skills are enhanced and I am able to work as a team player, and these make me ready to serve the School and reach out to the public.

Not only do we reach out locally, we go on delegations and trips to expose ourselves to the globalized world. I have been to South Korea for engineering delegation and it is such a great experience! Students were offered premium opportunities for technical visits and cultural exchanges at a much cheaper price. It is certainly affordable and worth going!

In my spare time, I especially enjoy gazing at the sea view in the library while studying, which definitely releases our stress and tension for academic work. Nature never lets us down and you should all go and appreciate the beauty of nature.
