Among many other international students in this program, I am a local student who grew up in Tin Shui Wai, a district located far from HKUST and away from the urban area. I always aspired to see the outside world when I was young, and HKUST has for sure provided me with the precious opportunities to do so.

I still remember the night when I was still within my 24-hour time slot to change my JUPAS choice, lying in bed and struggling between HKU and HKUST. I am so glad that I have made the best choice in my life thus far by choosing this university. Studying in such a dynamic campus where innovation and start-up spirits are everywhere, I am proud of being a member of this world-class university. The spirit to think, to change and to move forward really contributes to the energetic vibes here, which is difficult to find in other places. Here at one of the most internationalized universities, I have the chance to meet several other great minds, and get inspired on a campus with possibly the nicest sea view in the city.

Given my strong interest in STEM subjects and my will to help society, I am very pleased about enrolling in an engineering program. The world is moving in an unprecedentedly fast pace, and engineers are a critical piece of the puzzle.
