Upon the announcement of public exam results, I have been questioning myself what areas my study interests are and how I could achieve my future career goals. With the advice from secondary school teachers and alumni studying in different universities, and after extensive research on program information, I was attracted by the diversified program curriculum at HKUST School of Engineering. Not only is HKUST a renowned university because of its academic success, but also due to its heterogeneity of students and professors from various countries. It creates such a good environment to educate society’s future leaders and develop their interpersonal skills with peers from different cultural backgrounds.

The experience so far at HKUST is amazing. Professors are helpful and passionate. Seniors and classmates are friendly. As a freshman to the School of Engineering, I could always seek help from professors or the seniors in the Engineering Commons, an area which is designated for Engineering students to communicate their thoughts. With the coaching from them, even though I had not studied physics in high school, it was not that difficult for me to catch up. Besides, there are different kinds of activities held by the School in which students can always participate and have fun in, such as 3D printing workshops and summer camps. In short, it has been a fruitful freshman life for me. 

As an Engineering Student Ambassador, it is always my pleasure to share my thoughts and experiences to whoever is interested in engineering and wishes to know more about it. I am always looking forward to meeting new faces and communicating with them. I feel honored to be a part of this big Engineering Student Ambassador family.
