When it comes to my passion to study Civil Engineering, my interest plays an important role in motivating me on my decision. I love photography. When I was a secondary school student, I joined a photography competition with my friends. We went to Victoria Peak with our cameras where stunning views from the peak camera captured panoramic images of the skyline from the vantage point of the peak. I mused upon the beauty of the forest of towers – blocks, steel bars and concrete. ‘Wow’ was the only word that I could say. The excitement I felt just could not be put into words. At that time, I was impressed and determined to become a civil engineer to shape the city.
As a year-3 Civil Engineering student, I am pretty sure that HKUST is a dream maker. HKUST has been allocating enormous resources into the field of engineering. There are lots of opportunities for you to make your dream come true. Through activities like the Engineering Student Ambassador Program, you can promote engineering while meeting and exchanging insights with pioneers from academia. I am so glad that I have made my best choice in life by choosing HKUST. It teaches me the spirit of overcoming obstacles and embracing challenges. To those who consider HKUST students as never having a chill moment, I can proudly say that we are fueling our dreams.
