At the cocktail reception, Dean of Engineering Prof. Hong K. LO expressed his sincere gratitude to the Foundation and Alumni Department (FAD) of HKUST(GZ) for co-organizing this event and opening up various labs and facilities for the School’s alumni and faculty. He said that he was very glad to see the University continue its amazing story and legacy in the Greater Bay Area through HKUST(GZ) and encouraged alumni to visit the GZ campus more frequently to interact with the professors and industry. He added the phase two of campus development is set to complete in two years and alumni would be able to see new buildings and a more attractive campus in 2027.

Prof. Pong Ting-Chuen also addressed the audience, highlighting the nurturing environment of both campuses in fostering a close-knit community and the ongoing campus development of the two locations. He said that alumni of Clear Water Bay campus are also family members of the Guangzhou campus and they are always welcome to visit.
