As a student at HKUST, I am focused on learning how to harness information and analytical methodologies in decision-making. This fascinates me because it lies at the intersection of technical skills and critical thinking, allowing me to explore complex issues across various industries. My experience at HKUST has been fortunate, as I have taken courses in optimization, risk analysis, and simulation. These subjects have equipped me with methodologies to analyze situations and develop proactive approaches for improving performance. Collaborating with wonderful peers from diverse cultures in multidisciplinary settings has enhanced my learning by encouraging cross-disciplinary problem-solving. These real-life cases have solidified my commitment to applying decision analysis in operations management, cost-benefit analysis, supply chain optimization, and more. The strong faculty support and exciting research opportunities at HKUST inspire innovative methodologies that advance normative decision frameworks. Overall, I look forward to transforming engineering practices toward greater efficiency.
