Department of Computer Science and Engineering

My passion for engineering was sparked when I first learned about the Industrial Revolution, which I saw as a pivotal moment for societal progress. Over the years, this passion has evolved, especially when I learned to code. I began to harness programming to simplify everyday tasks. This journey has underscored my belief in engineering as a powerful tool for change. In today’s rapidly evolving world, it’s essential to stay attuned to emerging technologies. I believe that engineering empowers us to shape our futures and drive meaningful change on a global scale. My aspiration is to contribute, even in small ways, by leveraging these technologies to foster innovation that positively impacts communities.

My experience at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a Master of Philosophy student in Electrical and Computer Engineering has significantly shaped my perspective. HKUST’s recognition as one of the world's top universities reflects its commitment to excellence. The School of Engineering focuses on addressing human problems—both big and small—by blending innovative ideas with practical applications. The “can-do” spirit of both the school and the department enhances my ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Beyond academics, the vibrant campus life at HKUST offers numerous opportunities for community outreach and entrepreneurship. As I explore the enriching environment at HKUST, I feel a deep sense of happiness and excitement, and I hope to give back to the community that has shaped my journey.
