My passion for aerospace engineering started at a young age, after my first flight. When I first stepped onto a plane, I worried that something bad might happen. However, after we landed, I was amazed by how smooth the entire experience was. Afterwards, I learned that it was an engineer and his team who ensured the safety and proper functioning of the aircraft. Since that moment, I have gained a deep respect for the work of engineers and wanted to become one. Eventually, my passion led me to the School of Engineering (SENG) here at HKUST.
After joining SENG, my passion for the aerospace industry grew. In my first year, I was delighted and surprised to see many activities and clubs related to the aerospace field. For example, I joined the aero team and participated in various workshops and technical visits. This year, we visited the headquarters of the Government Flying Service. These activities helped me connect better with like-minded people and learn more about the local aviation industry. It was truly great to see a passionate community of aviation enthusiasts here at HKUST.
My academic experience here has also been very fulfilling. Many of the professors and lecturers encourage in-class discussion, which has helped me make new friends. The overall learning atmosphere is very supportive, and there are always opportunities for us to seek help.
