Engineering Student Ambassador, 2024-25
Class of 2027,
BEng in Chemical Engineering
Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering

Engineering has always seemed like a cool field to me. My interest in science and mathematics, along with my preference for hands-on experiences as a kinesthetic learner, has led me to immerse myself in this subject area that incorporates these qualities. The skills and knowledge that engineering equips us with will remain helpful throughout life, not just in our profession. While I sometimes face challenges in my studies, this is what makes things exciting; the rewarding feeling of figuring things out creates an intellectually stimulating experience.

The global reputation and diverse engineering disciplines available at HKUST drew me in and led to my decision to return to Hong Kong for university. Now, as a student here, I can confidently say that the university provides amazing opportunities and support to nurture our interests and facilitate growth. I have been able to engage in classes and activities that allow me to explore various areas, which has also led me to meet like-minded people and make friends. The School of Engineering is a tight-knit community. Being surrounded by friendly professors and staff is one of the best parts of studying here. They are genuinely passionate about their work and are always willing to help. Serving as an Engineering Student Ambassador this year is an opportunity I am grateful for, and I am thrilled to support those who wish to embark on a journey at HKUST!
