Computer Engineering Program

Being admitted to HKUST Engineering School with an extended degree in AI was a dream come true for me. Initially, I had set my sights on majoring in Computer Science, but I was conflicted about this decision because I was also interested in developing computer hardware, not just programming. However, my dilemma was resolved when I was introduced to the Computer Engineering Program.

Without hesitation, I chose Computer Engineering as my first choice, and after two years of studying it, I can confidently say that I made the right decision. Computer Engineering is a field that integrates computer science and electronic engineering to develop both hardware and software. It requires a higher order of critical and problem-solving skills, which is what initially attracted me to the engineering field. I have always had a passion for creating things that have the potential to "save the world," and Computer Engineering allows me to do just that.

What I particularly enjoy about working in this field is not only its challenging nature but also the opportunity to learn broader topics related to computers. I am constantly expanding my knowledge and skills, and I am able to combine this knowledge to create new applications that automate everyday life. It is truly fascinating to see how technology can be used to simplify and enhance our daily routines.

Studying Computer Engineering at HKUST provides me with a lot to explore my interests in the field. With a supportive faculty of professors and students, there is no shortage of opportunities to exceed yourself in performing better, not only in academics but also in self-improvement and realizing your passions.

By joining the ESA, I am honored to meet like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds and also obtain leadership development to become an all-rounded engineer.
