For me, it is no different from what you hear from others, how we are academically intense, especially in engineering, how much stress and tension there is, and how you would wave goodbye to your social life and free time. But even with this first impression, I still chose the HKUST Engineering program as my first choice in the college application system, as there was a feeling that this would be the most suitable program for me.

And that gut feeling of not listening to what others whispered was undoubtedly a correct choice. In the 3 years I called this place my school, I have encountered many opportunities, such as competitions, outreaches, research projects, and support from my peers, professors and the School. I can explore different aspects of computer science, discover my own path from the activities the School provided, and find people with similar interests and vibes to befriend. It is unlike how people rumored the School to be.

Engineering  brought me the joy in not only learning new things and technology of how the world works, but also integrating the theoretical aspects with applicational fields. If you are a problem solver like I am, you would enjoy studying engineering at HKUST.
